Congratulations to our wonderful Director Michelle!

She has been awarded a scholarship under the 2022-23 Early Childhood Education Scholarships Program! Michelle has contributed a lot to the centre and developed the Montessori program at the centre including the important indigenous program at the centre.

Specifically, Michelle was recognised and rewarded for her support to Aboriginal families, her inclusiveness for all children and families and advocacy for children’s rights. She also contributed to the centres growth and this was reflected in the assessment and ratings process for the centre.

This is a competitive scholarship and we are very proud of Michelle’s achievement and this sets a great example for all our staff at the centre. Michelle will be a great mentor and leader for educators who would like to follow in her steps and develop their career in Early Childhood Education.

The scholarship that Michelle has been awarded is part of the NSW Government’s ‘recently announced landmark investment of up to $15.9 billion over 10 years for transforming early childhood education, child development and women’s economic participation, to create a sustainable, accessible and high-quality early childhood sector.

Early childhood teachers are invaluable to the quality of education and care provided in community preschool, mobile preschools and long day care services across NSW. By delivering high quality teaching and learning to young children, early childhood teachers help them get the best start in life.  Through initiatives such as the 2022-23 Early Childhood Education Scholarships Program, the NSW Government is working to support the delivery of quality preschool programs by qualified early childhood teachers working in those services’.
