Welcome to Taree!
Taree is a beautiful Mid Coast town. If you are new to the area or visiting we highly recommend travelling around Taree and the surrounding regions. The area immediately surrounding Taree is full of amazingly beautiful beaches (check out Old Bar Beach Festival) and the amazingly beautiful town of Harrington.
Taree is home to the Biripi Indigenous people and has an amazingly rich Aboriginal cultural history Aboriginal cultural history and heritage. In fact the name Taree itself is derived from “tareebit” which is a Biripi word for tree by the river (the Sandpaper Fig).
